Stairway to...An Abortive Attempt

Formerly, the title was going to be, Stairway to Heavenly Music. However, the best  laid plans have gone astray. For all the measuring, counting and careful consideration, what is half-done is half-assed and will have to be reassessed and corrected, if possible.

Perspectives from top and bottom are different so the effect will only be seen in one direction. I started from the top this morning but did not factor in that part of the stair will always be just out-of-sight so really doesn't count.

Making cut-outs to represent the dark and light areas is my next plan. Who knows if the black paint will paint over in white. Maybe with many coats. It was like using tar today.
