"Can't Beat the Prices" Art Sale

When art journalist, Mike Levin, decided to hold an art sale, he canvased his family and they amassed close to one hundred pieces and held a one-day sale at the Orange Hall on Rosemount Ave. in Ottawa's Hintonburg.

There was also a Silent Auction where reserve bids ranged up to
$300 for a large oil painting by
Patrick John Mills valued at $1,800. So if you started the bid and no one else followed, you'd be one lucky person.

The hall was cheery and bright and a steady stream of art aficionados came empty-handed with pockets of cash, hoping to
find something they liked or
absolutely had to have. Most left
with two or three pieces, some
 with five or six.
