I am surprised that the colour took so well on hair that had not been stripped of colour. Of course, the colour "baked" overnight in a plastic bag on the top of my head. If you're going to do this, drench your hair in conditioner and then work in the colour.
The oddity of all this is going to play through when I go to a fifties party on Sunday and whereas the hairstyle is right, the colour is not.
