Goodbye Couch

There went the couch, late-afternoon. And bags of detritus from a life lived.

In order to get everything from the side of the house to the front, given that the driveway is one sheet of glare ice, I strapped crampon-like cleats to the bottom of my hunting boots. Warmth and safety.

And no, I don't kill small, furry, defenceless animals. These tall, waterproof rubber boots which feature a felt liner that keeps feet warm to -40 Celsius, were on sale at  Canadian Tire when I picked up the bolt cutters last evening so I grabbed a pair. Size five, boys.

The cleats or anti-skid detachable soles, are called Stablicers and they are made by Gempler's with a Vibram sole. Sixty dollars worth of peace of mind.
