Behind the Scenes

Panel one of a triptych by Bruce Stewart.
Today was the last day to present one's art for the opening of the WAR show on Thursday, August 4/11.

Featured artist, Bruce Stewart, had his work hanging already, as did Ted Zuber. former Government of Canada artist who covered the Korean War.

Paintings either coming or going.

Large canvas by Mathieu Laca

Framed tableau of soldiers showering by Ted Zuber.

Round Yellow Piece
The Round Yellow Piece came together with the help of the art surgeon who immediately saw that the peace sign could be better realized by using toy soldiers, and in a moment of sheer brilliance, she added flowers to the ends of their guns.

I do not have a shot of the art as it looks hanging in the gallery, just the photo above to the left of it prone. The photo to the right is an early permutation. Many changes occurred from this, for instance, I left more space between the computer  keys so that the mirrored background is more visible. I think it's going to work. It certainly is different than anything else in the show.
