Artist Brush Box

There I was, waxing profound about the Sulcata up the street and I forgot that yesterday, as I was walking in my neighbourhood, I found the loveliest wooden artist brush box. Granted, a little worse for the wear on the inside, scarred and with some resin that I had to remove and a disturbing odour which has abated since I washed the box in soapy water and left it in the sun for a day or so.

A neat, hinged tongue-and-groove closure. Regrettably, there are no initials or any indication of who owned and used this box so well. There were some old price stickers from stores long-since closed so I'd place this box at at least 40 years old.
