Something interesting about this guitar which started out, when it came to me, as a throw-away item, is the lack of symmetry. The strings feed into a wooden bar which I thought would be situated equidistant from each side but the measurement is off by almost two inches. Bit of a problem there. This bar is being held loosely in place by two screws so that it can be removed and the strings directed away from the body when I am applying shellac or whatever it is I decide to put on the outside to increase durability.
