This and That


With Christmas right around the corner, picking up some cards seemed like a good idea. Since they were wrapped with only the front showing, that is, the fine crayon printing to the left, it was quite a surprise when I opened the package and discovered the true message of Christmas cheer inside.

This is a small dish which I am going to put earrings in. It was made in Burslem, England, a spot well-known for the production of pottery. It  sports a crown with H. J. Wood Ltd. in a circle below.
It's a beautiful shade of burgundy with a gold rim top and around the bottom. Getting a photo of the imprint in artificial light is tricky and took many tries.
